ADHD Assessments
What is ADHD?
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition marked by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. While typically diagnosed before the age of 12, individuals may receive a diagnosis in adulthood. ADHD can have far-reaching effects on everyday functioning (at work, home, and in social settings) and is often associated with co-occurring mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and sleep disorders.
ADHD is typically categorised into the below types based on symptom presentation:
Inattentive Presentation: marked primarily by difficulties in sustaining attention.
Hyperactive-Impulsive Presentation: characterised by restlessness and impulsive behaviour.
Combined Presentation: where significant symptoms of both inattention and hyperactivity are present.
